I am going to winterize my 50 HP Merc this weekend. I have a question regarding fogging the cylinders. I run Stabil all year and fuel/Stabil is present and fresh. and of course I will have flusher attachment on. Lower unit will be serviced and all fittings greased or lubricated as last step.
Regarding fogging, Mercury basically says "Run motor until warm, disconnect fuel line while running, spray fogger into carborators until motor stalls. Then remove plugs, inspect, clean, gap or replace. spray fogger agent into cylinders, turning cylinders manually a few times to work fogger into cylinders, replace plugs, finished." Sounds simple enough for a classic 50 HP / 3cyl. That said, anyone have any experience or advice to share? Thanks all; Craig
