Wrapped up my first tying walk-through

Posted 04-03-2009 at 03:38 PM by jarredbehrendt

Worked on my first tying walkthrough today, start to finish. I did a walkthrough on the Bunny Leech and its now going though the editing process. I decided to work on this one as opposed to the Bear one because I still havent figured out a good way to finish that one.
I think that this will be the first of many walkthroughs that I will write. I really liked doing it and it was much easier writting because it was just a 1,2,3 scenerio. Hopefully next week they will post up my Caring for your...

Fishing at the W

Posted 04-02-2009 at 09:09 PM by jarredbehrendt

Met up with FBW and Hooligan for a good skunking at the W tonight. Wray ended up with several gills and a LMB, Hooligan ended up with a crappie.
I guess that I just suck, I threw a lot of clousers and bucktails to try to hook up with a walleye and came up with nothing. I am marking this down as the first skunking of the year.

The totals so far this year:
Crappie= 1
Walleye=0
LMB=5
SMB=0
Bluegills=13
Sunfish=3
Rainbow Trout=33...

Walleye Flybox

Posted 04-02-2009 at 12:06 PM by jarredbehrendt

After several days of tying and going through some of my old patterns I have been able to put together a respectable walleye fly box:

There are several patterns that have been more trial and error but they are essentially good imitations of baitifish for a nighttime setting.

Now I am just hoping to get out and use some of them!

I have been working on the Behaving in Bear country article, and its almost finished. I am looking for any further information so that I can wrap this one up.

The next project is going to be on some tying walkthroughs, Im thinking I will stick to what I know and do some work on streamers. I have to beef up my light supply in my tying room though and figure out just which ones I intend to tie.
