Tackle for Finshing on the Missouri River

I have fished the Missouri river off the bank a few times and have caught a few drum, cats, sturgeon, and such but now have an opportunity to go with a new forum member and co-worker Rangerman in a boat. I bug Rangerman all the time on how to, what to buy, and so on but would like to know what other kinds of tackle I should buy before our trip in on Sept 5-7 that you would recomend.
I have mostly larger hooks for cat fishing and heavy weights. I recently bought a new fishing bag and picked up a dozen green, black and white spinners from Wal-Mart for a $1 each. I also got a small box of Slurpies from Wal-Mart for fathers day... What other things should I be adding to my new box?
If you have links or such I would greatly appreciate it. Maybe you can tell me the best way to use it too. I am work in progress!!!
