Yep, once they're there, they're there to stay unless you start over from scratch. He can probably "manage" them though, and predators are an important part of that.

A few other ideas:

Trap them (build and submerge a fish trap, and return desirable fish to the water, removing the undesirable fish)

Seine them (a large seine may help remove many fish)

Catch them with setlines or trotlines baited with corn (may also catch some desirable species, which can be released)

Invite some bowfishers to help thin the population

Cast net them (may have limited success, but will get some yoty fish

Spear them through the ice, over a chum pile (corn)

It's all just "maintenance" unless he wants to do a drain and restart or rotenone.
