I am pretty sure I have seen that fish down there, If not I have hooked one that probably could have gone 40 inches, and several other people have hooked a muskie in the 40 inch range so i would guess it was the one your talkin about because if it has been hooked and played a few times then it would be very stressed and thats probably the reason for the scars. All of the people that I have talked to that hooked the "40 incher" said they never actualy got it to shore. but here is the sad part, There was a guy dwn there with a bow that shot both a 41" and 42" muskie and took them home on a stinger

Very dissapointing but its the guys decision. to be honest if I were to catch one of them I would release it into the main lake.
