Well I'm new here but a very wise man once made something close to the following statement as a group of "traditional" bow hunters were squacking about the compound bow hunters not really being hunters at all. It went something like this "unless you are willing to give up your truck that you drive out to the field, give up your atv that you drive out to your tree stand, give up your steel store bought tree stand, give up your goretex thinsolate boots, give up your "real tree" camo and your purchased recurve/longbow then you really don't have room to talk. The next time I see one of you guys on your horse wearing your mocasins carrying cedar arrows and stone tips toting a osage bow you made yourself then you might have room to complain, until then I just don't care to hear about it." Ironically he does make his own shafts, tips and long bows but could care less if someone else uses a compound, or a recurve or a rock.
